Departments

The Administration Department is responsible for implementing and executing Fiscal Court policy and directives and managing the day to day affairs of the County government.

Campbell County Animal Services provides animal control services, promotes responsible pet ownership, provides humane sheltering and care for animals, and helps end the euthanasia of healthy, adoptable pets.

The Department supports the County in planning, preparing and executing disaster and emergency response actions.

Campbell County Fiscal Court’s Finance Department is committed to transparency in fiscal management, recording and reporting. The department oversees all county funds by creating, analyzing and managing annual budgets. The department manages debt obligations, and oversees all county financial transactions. Other department responsibilities include Occupational License.

The Housing Choice Voucher Program is a federal rent subsidy program sponsored by the United States Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD). The purpose of the HCV Program is to assist very-low income households to obtain decent, safe and sanitary housing. Qualified families pay 30 percent of their gross income for rent and utilities. The Housing Choice Voucher Program pays the remainder of the total contract rent to the landlord under a specific contract with money allocated from HUD.

Campbell County's Human Resource Department supports the county by promoting a work environment that is characterized by fair treatment of staff, open communications, personal accountability, trust and mutual respect. The department seeks and provides solutions to workplace issues that support and optimize the operating principles of our county and community.

The Information Technology Department partners with other County departments, management and key technology providers to implement and maintain technology solutions that enable efficient operations in the delivery of County services. Responsibilities include the Administration, AJ Jolly Golf, AJ Jolly Park, Animal Shelter, Detention Center, Emergency Management, Finance, Housing, Planning & Zoning, Police, Road, Senior Center, Sheriff and several outside cities/agencies that operate within Campbell County.

The Facilities and Fleet Department is responsible for all Fiscal Court owned building and grounds maintenance including the County Administration Building, County Senior Center, County Animal Shelter, Transportation Department Building, Historic County Courthouse in Alexandria, County Police and Emergency Management Building, County Clerk’s Annex Building, and all park and golf course buildings as well as oversight of county fleet vehicle maintenance and inventory.

The Parks & Recreation department maintains county parks and provides recreational opportunities for residents and visitors.

Campbell County Police Department is an accredited, full service, law enforcement agency.

The Campbell County Road Department assumes responsibility on Campbell County maintained roads and right of way for snow/ice removal in the winter, drainage, trimming trees along the roadside, installing signs, paving and patching.

The Senior Center offers an array of activities and programs based on a wellness model.

Campbell County’s Solid Waste Department oversees the county recycling, litter, and illegal dumping programs.
